Current Starting Pay: $21.92/hr
Summary
Set up and operate fabricating machines such as plasma table or saw.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure working environment is clean and safe.
- Verify specifications/measurements.
- Read parts list.
- Read and understand blueprints.
- Work with computers and machines.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have the ability to operate milling machines, lathes, saws, and drill presses. Knowledge of welding practices is valuable.
- Must be able to utilize various measuring devices, interpret blueprints and use shop math.
- Basic math is needed due to the technological needs of many fabrication parts.
Essential Physical Demands
- Regularly required to talk and hear.
- Required to stand, walk, climb, sit, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
- Frequently required to use fingers, hands, and arms to handle and reach.
- Must frequently lift and/or move 5-30 lbs.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50+ lbs.
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Required to work four 10‑hour days, occasionally working 40+ hours/week as business demands.
- Ability to wear protective gear due to fumes or airborne particles.
- Ability to frequently be exposed to flashing lights.
- Must occasionally be exposed to weather conditions such as precipitation, extreme cold and extreme heat.
- Regularly required to wear hearing protection in a loud environment.
