Job summary

Artex Manufacturing, located in Redwood Falls, MN, is expanding its Fabricator Team. The role involves reading blueprints, setting up laser cutting and other fabrication equipment, and producing parts to tight tolerances.

You will operate a variety of machines and handle material loading, with emphasis on safety and efficiency. Candidates should have manufacturing experience and the ability to learn tack welding or other processes.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Experience operating metal fabrication equipment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints/instructions.
• Ability to read a tape measure to 1/16" and perform basic math.

Responsibilities

• Read and follow manufacturing drawings, prints, and instructions.
• Adjust machines based on job specifications and material requirements.
• Operates fabrication equipment: break press, plasma cutter, drill press, band saw, metal shear, MIG welder, lathe, mill, ironworker, laser.
• Load sheet metal into laser cutter and manage part numbers.
• Ensure parts meet specifications and pass quality inspections.
• Operate forklifts and hydraulic lifting equipment.
• Complete paperwork accurately and on time.
• Maintain clean, organized work area and comply with safety policies.

Product Assembly & Inspection Parts Creation

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Read and follow manufacturing and assembly drawings, prints, and instructions

Adjust machines based on job specifications and material requirements

Safely and efficiently operate the following fabrication equipment: break press, plasma cutter, drill press, band saw, metal shear, MIG welder, lathe, mill, ironworker, and laser

Safely load sheet metal into laser cutter using the overhead crane system; remove cut parts and assign part numbers

Consistently produce parts and assemblies to specifications and pass quality/first article inspections

Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and hydraulic lifting equipment

Accurately and legibly complete all paperwork in a timely manner

Maintain housekeeping and organization of area, as needed

Work safely and comply with company and regulatory safety/environmental policies, practices and procedures

Maintain regular and predictable on-site attendance

Qualifications

Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferred

Experience operating metal fabrication equipment, preferred

Ability to utilize technology to set up and run the laser machine; previous experience, helpful

Experience operating a forklift, preferred; ability to pass in-house certifications, upon hire

Experience tack welding, or willingness/ability to learn

Ability to accurately read and interpret documents (ex: blueprints, instructions, etc.)

Accurately read a tape measure to a 1/16" with ability to complete basic math equations

Strong attention to detail and desire to produce high quality components

Ability to safely operate an overhead crane to move materials

Must be 18 years of age or older for insurance purposes

Stand up to 100% of the workday

Occasionally lift up to 75 pounds from floor to waist level

Operar de forma segura y eficiente los siguientes equipos de fabricación: prensa plegadora, cortadora de plasma, taladro de columna, sierra de cinta, cizalla para metal, soldadora MIG, torno, fresadora, punzonadora y láser

Cargar de forma segura la chapa metálica en la cortadora láser utilizando el sistema de grúa puente; retirar las piezas cortadas y asignarles números de pieza

Producir piezas y ensamblajes de forma consistente según las especificaciones y superar las inspecciones de calidad/primer artículo

Operar montacargas, transpaletas y equipos de elevación hidráulicos

Completar toda la documentación de forma precisa y legible en tiempo y forma

Mantener el área de trabajo limpia y organizada, según sea necesario
