Job summary

Cincinnati Incorporated in Harrison, OH is seeking a hands-on Fabricator to set up and operate CNC plasma, oxy-fuel and laser cutting machines, and to notch, bend and form metal parts to exact blueprints.

You will read drawings, position parts on machines, install torch tips, adjust settings, perform welding and assembly, maintain a clean workspace and follow quality procedures to support the production of industrial equipment.

Qualifications

• Prior CNC cutting experience.

• Excellent math skills and understanding of basic concepts.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
• Demonstrated manual dexterity and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Receive work assignment and obtain drawings or programs for information as to material size and type, setup information and cutting sequence, to manually or automatically cut material.
• Position work onto CNC machinery using remote overhead crane; verify and adjust gas pressure and mixture or arc voltage and amperage.
• Adjust torch height, position and tilt to cut.
• Burns scrap into smaller pieces as necessary and remove scrap from burning table into scrap bins; remove unused plate to plate stores area.
• Inspect and remove finished parts from burning table and mark part number as required.
• Indicate bad spots to be welded; check accuracy of bends and curves with contour or template or measuring tools.
• Position and assemble sheet metal sections together and fasten with either spot welding and/or continuous wire weld, may use welding positioner.
• Deburr and clean work pieces as required prior to assembly; de-sl ag, chip and clean welds as required.
• Perform operations to specified tolerances on fabricated units such as panel boxes, covers, flywheel guards, sheet metal brackets, etc.
• Operate secondary machine while primary machine performs routine functions.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment including checking oil levels, fluid levels, air filters, etc.
• Perform operations such as notching, bending, broaching, straightening, stamping and punching as required on various sizes and configurations of plate and sheet metal to standard tolerances.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area and perform all assignments in a safe manner and in accordance with established quality procedures

Job description

Fabricator, Profile and Bend

Set up and operate CNC plasma, oxygen and laser cutting machines to cut metal plates and structure shapes to dimension, contour, and bevel specified by blueprints along with setting up and operating CNC press brakes to notch, bend, broach, straighten and punch various sized metal sheets or plate. This hands‑on role may also include fabricating, assembling, and welding metal parts to support the production of high‑quality industrial equipment

Essential Functions:

• Receive work assignment and obtain drawings or programs for information as to material size and type, setup information and cutting sequence, to manually or automatically cut material


• Position work onto CNC machinery using remote overhead crane
  Select and install torch tips or nozzles; verify and adjust gas pressure and mixture or arc voltage and amperage


• Adjust torch height, position and tilt to cut

Work Experience:

Required Experience:1 to 2 years
