Job summary

Wastequip Manufacturing Company LLC in Tyler, TX is seeking a Fabricator for our 1st shift to support our manufacturing operation. This full-time role offers benefits including health insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid vacation and sick time.

You will fabricate steel parts, operate a press brake and/or shear, and read blueprints to ensure precise dimensions. The position requires basic CNC knowledge and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced production environment.

Qualifications

Prior experience operating a press brake and/or shear.
Set-up experience is a plus.
Understanding of basic CNC controls.
One year or more of prior production experience preferred.
Ability to read blueprints and use a measuring tape.
Basic math and problem-solving skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division in all units of measure).
Experience in a fast-paced production environment.
Ability to pass all required EHS tests and clearances.

Responsibilities

Fabricate steel and other metal parts as indicated by work orders and blueprints.
Operate a press brake and/or shear.
Turn handwheels to adjust rake (angle) and pressure of blade.
Position and clamp workpieces, set length and angle of cut.
Lifts workpieces manually or by hoist or crane to the machine bed or roller table and positions it against side guide and end stops.
Start the machine, clamp the workpiece and lower the blade to cut metal.
Lay out cutting lines on metal when shearing single pieces.
Adjust bed, blade, or install fixtures to shear, bevel, or trim fabricated items.
Operate portable shear to cut sheet metal.
Inspect work to verify dimensions.
