Job summary

Schlosser Signs Inc. is seeking an experienced fabricator to join our production team. You will weld and fabricate components to the highest standards, reading schematics and blueprints to craft custom signs.

You will collaborate with design to determine best methods and operate production machinery with attention to safety and quality. Ideal candidates bring recent welding/metal fabrication experience, proficiency with power tools, and the ability to pass a welding cert exam within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Recent welding/metal fabrication experience is essential.
• Prior welding certifications are preferred but not mandatory.
• Ability to pass a welding certification exam within 30 days of hire.
• Read and interpret schematics and blueprints for projects.
• Proficient with a range of metalworking power tools.
• Strong attention to detail and precision in fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Weld and fabricate components to high standards per specs.
• Read/understand schematics and blueprints for projects.
• Collaborate with fabrication and design teams on methods.
• Operate production machinery safely and efficiently.
• Cut, fit, weld, and assemble fabricated products; manage wiring.
• Load/unload materials and signs; maintain work area safety.

We are actively looking for fabricators to add to our growing production team. Ideal candidates are eager to learn, grow and craft beautiful signs for our customers. Our fabricators are skilled in and able to perform a variety of fabrication techniques with varying materials to manufacture custom designed signs. This role also involves applying general technical skills to day-to-day projects and reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics to complete projects according to their design plan.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Weld and fabricate components to the highest standard in accordance with best practices
• Read/Understand schematics and blueprints for projects
• Work with the fabrication and design team as needed to help determine the best practice and/or method to fabricate specific parts
• Operate production machinery
• Cut, fit, weld and assemble fabricated products, including low voltage wiring and other
• Load/unload materials and signs.
• Maintain work area for efficiency, cleanliness and to meet Company safety standards
• Report material usage and production time for each project daily
• Follow all company safety standards including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Perform additional responsibilities as requested

Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Solid organizational skills; able to multi-task and complete requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Resourceful; can devise creative solutions to problems.
• Recent welding/metal fabrication experience is essential
• Prior welding certifications are preferred but not mandatory
• Ability to pass a welding certification exam within 30 days of hire
• Proficient in operating various power tools and equipment for metalworking
• Excellent attention to detail and precision in metal fabrication processes
• Strong Knowledge of construction techniques and processes
• Read and write English
• Attend monthly safety training meetings
• Obtain and maintain forklift certification through our on-the-job training program

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and move about the shop.
• Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 80 pounds
• Must be able to safely use a ladder
