Job summary

Generac Power Systems is seeking a skilled fabricator and welder to support energy systems sales, service, rental, and construction departments. This hands-on role focuses on fabrication, assembly, and field-ready modifications to generator equipment.

You will install vent extensions, spill boxes, DPF and load bank systems, read schematics, and work with project management to estimate modifications. Heavy and light welding, sheet metal work, and forklift/crane operation are part of daily duties.

Qualifications

• 2 years welding or fabrication in field work or shop work
• Basic electrical experience with simple AC and DC systems and read high level schematic
• Assembly experience with sheet metal tools, drills, mechanical and fasteners
• General plumbing knowledge and use of threaded black pipe to install vent extensions, spill boxes
• Installation of mechanical sub-assemblies and accessories on generators
• Knowledge of fuel tank and enclosure modifications and part manufacturing
• Forklift and crane operation and use
• Ability to do light design and project layout
• Proficient in Mig, Tig or Stick
• Must have valid driver license
• Must be able to travel occasionally
• Engine repair and preservation experience

JOB SUMMARY:

This position is responsible to provide general fabrication and assembly support for the Energy systems sales, service, rental, and construction departments.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
