Job summary

MEI Industrial Solutions is seeking a Fabricator to provide general labor support in our manufacturing facility in Southbridge, MA. You will prepare material for the next process, deburr plastic, drill and tap holes, straighten tubing, and cut material to length, plus assemble parts per instructions and blueprints.

Responsibilities include assisting CNC operators, keeping the work area clean, and helping with part kitting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years general labor experience in manufacturing preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret manufacturing blueprints.
• Ability to use multiple types of hand tools.
• Able to follow verbal and written work instructions.
• Must be able to operate within safety guidelines and policies.

Responsibilities

• Prepare material for next process step (debur plastics, drill and tap holes, straighten tubing, cut to length).
• Prepare parts and sub-assemblies using assemblies instructions, blueprints, and parts lists.
• Assemble by measuring locations and fastening parts to assemblies.
• Assist CNC operator with loading/unloading material on router table.
• Maintain clean work area and sort recycling; keep manufacturing free of debris.

Position Summary

The Fabricator is responsible for assisting and providing general labor to production to aid in the manufacturing of MEI products.

Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities

• Prepare material for the next process step. This includes deburring plastic, drill and tapping holes, straightening tubing, and cutting material to length.
• Preparing all parts and sub-assemblies for work to be accomplished using assembly instructions, blueprints, and parts lists.
• Assembling by measuring for the proper location and fastening parts to assemblies.
• Assist the CNC operator in loading and unloading material on the router table.
• Keep manufacturing free of debris and dirt by sweeping, collecting trash, and collecting and sorting recycling.
• Assist the materials group with the kitting of project parts when needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Experience, Skills, And Education)

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years general labor experience preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Able to read and interpret manufacturing blueprints.
• Ability to use multiple different types of hand tools.
• Able to follow verbal and written work instruction.
