Job summary

Advantage Business Services is seeking a reliable Fabricator to weld, cut, fit, and assemble metal components in a hands-on shop in Oxnard, CA. You will read blueprints and work orders, measure and lay out parts, and operate fabrication machinery to meet exact specifications.

The ideal candidate has 6–12 months of fabrication experience, basic math skills, and a strong focus on safety and quality. This full-time role requires lifting up to 50 lbs and adherence to PPE protocols.

Qualifications

• Read blueprints and work orders to determine sequence of operations and tolerances.
• Perform basic math and measurements to verify part dimensions.
• Follow safety procedures and PPE requirements at all times.
• Use hand tools and fabrication equipment to prepare and assemble components.
• Welding and metal fabrication experience is preferred.
• Set up and operate fabrication machinery with care and accuracy.
• Lift and move up to 50 lbs and maintain safe handling practices.
• Maintain attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
• Be dependable and safety-conscious on the shop floor.

Responsibilities

• Read and follow blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders.
• Measure, lay out, align, and fit metal components.
• Cut, clean, bend, grind, and shape aluminum, stainless steel, and carbon steel.
• Tack-weld and assemble metal parts according to specifications.
• Operate fabrication equipment including brakes, rolls, shears, plasma cutters, grinders, punch presses, drills, lathes, and milling machines.
• Use hand tools, welding equipment, jigs, fixtures, clamps, and other fabrication tools.
• Inspect completed work for proper fit, alignment, and quality.
• Move and position materials using hoists, cranes, forklifts, and other lifting equipment.
• Grind and smooth surfaces, remove high spots, and make necessary adjustments.
• Create and use templates, patterns, fixtures, and other work aids.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow all required PPE and safety procedures.

Work Details
