A creative production company seeks a detail-oriented Freelance Fabricator to assist in their Portland woodshop from December 9 to 23. Qualifications

  • Previous hands-on fabrication, woodworking, shop, or production experience preferred.
  • Comfortable working with hand tools, adhesives, and basic fasteners.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining quality and consistency.
  • Physically able to stand for extended periods, lift and move materials, and handle large components safely.
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to commit to the full project duration (Dec 9 – Dec 23/24).

Responsibilities

Job description

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Freelance Fabricator to support their woodshop team on a short-term production project.

Project Dates: Approximately December 9 – December 23

Location: Portland, OR

Role Overview

You will work hands‑on in our woodshop to assemble large display components used in branded environments. This assignment centers on consistent, accurate production work and light packing/fulfillment support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble display components by gluing and/or stapling styrene skins to large cardboard tubes according to provided instructions and quality standards.
  • Inspect materials and finished parts to ensure clean, accurate, and consistent assembly.
  • Assist with packing, labeling, and organizing completed components for shipment.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in the woodshop.
  • Follow established safety procedures and use tools and equipment properly.
  • Collaborate with shop leads and other fabricators to meet production deadlines.
Qualifications
  • Previous hands‑on fabrication, woodworking, shop, or production experience preferred, but strong aptitude and reliability will be considered.
  • Comfortable working with hand tools, adhesives, and basic fasteners (e.g., staplers, clamps).
  • High attention to detail and ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining quality and consistency.
  • Physically able to stand for extended periods, lift and move materials, and handle large components safely.
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to commit to the full project duration (Dec 9 – Dec 23/24).
