Job summary

The Countertop Shop is seeking a Fabricator to shape, finish, and prepare quartz, granite, marble, porcelain, and other countertop materials for installation. You will complete fabrication work accurately, meeting our quality standards and working closely with the production team.

This full-time, in-person role requires reading shop drawings, measuring accurately, and using hand tools and fabrication equipment to produce precise pieces.

Qualifications

• Ability to safely lift, move and handle countertop materials.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate countertop materials according to production drawings, measurements, and job specifications.
• Cut, shape, grind, polish, and finish countertop pieces using hand tools and fabrication equipment.
• Create and finish sink cutouts, cooktop cutouts, edge profiles, seams, and other countertop details.
• Review shop drawings and job specifications before beginning fabrication.
• Inspect materials for defects or potential fabrication concerns.
• Verify measurements and dimensions throughout the fabrication process.
• Perform hand-finishing and detail work to ensure pieces are ready for installation.
• Conduct quality checks to ensure finished materials meet required specifications and company standards.
• Safely move and handle countertop materials using appropriate material-handling equipment.

Job description

The Fabricator plays a key role in the production process by shaping, finishing, and preparing quartz, granite, marble, porcelain, and other countertop materials for installation. This position is responsible for completing fabrication work accurately and efficiently while ensuring finished pieces meet The Countertop Shop’s quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Fabricate countertop materials according to production drawings, measurements, and job specifications.
• Cut, shape, grind, polish, and finish countertop pieces using hand tools and fabrication equipment.
• Create and finish sink cutouts, cooktop cutouts, edge profiles, seams, and other countertop details.
• Review shop drawings and job specifications before beginning fabrication.
• Inspect materials for defects or potential fabrication concerns.
• Verify measurements and dimensions throughout the fabrication process.
• Perform hand-finishing and detail work to ensure pieces are ready for installation.
• Conduct quality checks to ensure finished materials meet required specifications and company standards.
• Safely move and handle countertop materials using appropriate material-handling equipment.
• Maintain material and job identification throughout the fabrication process.
• Perform routine maintenance and daily cleaning of tools, equipment, and assigned work areas.
• Troubleshoot minor fabrication issues and communicate concerns to management.
• Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Work closely with programmers, saw operators, CAD, and other production team members to meet production deadlines.
• Assist with other production and shop duties as needed.

Requirements:

• Countertop, stone, manufacturing, or fabrication experience preferred, but not required.
• Ability to read shop drawings, measurements, and job specifications accurately.
• Experience with fabrication tools and equipment is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
• Good hand-eye coordination and mechanical aptitude.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to safely lift, move, and handle countertop materials with appropriate equipment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
