Job summary

Advanced Drainage Systems, Inc. is seeking a Plastic Fabrication Associate to perform fabrication tasks, quality audits, and Lean initiatives within a fast-paced plant environment.

You will lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long shifts, and work in temperature extremes; a high school diploma and basic tool skills are required, with opportunities for training and growth. ADS offers competitive pay and comprehensive benefits across a global network.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must possess strong housekeeping and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with geometry, drawing interpretation, and basic problem solving.
  • Basic welding repair and plastic fabrication tool proficiency.
  • Ability to learn cross-functional processes and Lean concepts.
  • Safety-focused with the ability to follow quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Abide by all safety practices and procedures.
  • Conduct quality audits and support lean initiatives.
  • Operate plastic fabrication equipment and assist with welding tasks.
  • Handle materials, perform finishing, and maintain housekeeping.
  • Engage in cross-functional training and teamwork.
  • Support training of other operators and adhere to ADS core values.

Responsibilities

Primary Job Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Abide by all safe practices and procedures.
  • Independently conducts quality audits
  • Continuous involvement in Fabrication/Plant programs and Lean initiatives
  • Extrusion welding – all fittings through 24”;
  • Hot plate welding – multi-miter bends and tees
  • Actively pursuing Plastic Fabricator - Advanced
  • Material handling and scrap management
  • Engage in cross-functional training
  • Material preparation and product finishing
  • Product knowledge – Plastic Fab Basic Level
  • Equipment Operation – Plastic Fab Basic Level and actively conducting preventive maintenance
  • Adherence to all quality standards and conducts quality audits.
  • Practice proper forklift operation and preventive maintenance
  • Specifications – Plastic Fab Basic Level
  • Communication with the Fab Support Group
  • Assists with training of Assembler position
  • Understand and practice ADS Core Values

Educational Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred Experience:

  • Carpentry or trade apprenticeship or experience
  • Metal fabrication or welding

Physical Requirements:

  • The employee will lift and move heavy items, which will require the ability to repeatedly lift 50 pounds to a height of 6 feet
  • The employee will be working specified shifts and moving around at all times, which will require the ability to stand and be mobile for a minimum of 8 continuous hours
  • Facilities can be extremely hot or cold at times, so the employee must have the ability to perform physical labor for extended periods of time in temperature extremes
  • The employee will be handling materials daily, which requires the ability to use hands, arms and legs to physically handle and transport finished goods
  • The Position requires full range of body motion on a daily basis including twisting, bending, reaching, squatting and ability to mount/dismount industrial equipment and vehicles

Hourly Range:$22.25 per hourIndividual pay may vary and is determined by work location, shift, and factors such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
