Georg Fischer is seeking a Fabricator to produce high-quality fittings and components by correctly positioning, aligning, and assembling parts to tight tolerances. You will read blueprints and schematics, and operate CNC Prototrak mills and conventional machining equipment.

The role requires setting up spot welders, maintaining safety and 5S standards, and mentoring junior fabricators to uphold quality and efficiency in a climate-controlled shop.

Formación

• 1+ years machining/fabrication experience with blueprints and GD&T.
• Experience with spot welding operations preferred.
• High school diploma or GED; vocational training preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Operate CNC Prototrak mills and conventional machines to spec.
• Set up and run spot welders with proper fixtures and weld parameters.
• Train and mentor new fabricators in machine shop skills.
• Interpret drawings and plan sequences for complex parts.

6am-2:30pm (Days) Must Be Available to Work Overtime as Needed

Schedule:

Monday - Friday, occasional Saturdays

Pay:

$20-$25 base pay (depending on experience) + Bonus

Summary:

The Fabricator is responsible for producing high-quality fittings and components by accurately positioning, aligning, and assembling parts to achieve a precise, finished result. This role requiresthe ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics, safely operate hand tools, and-depending on level-use conventional and CNC machining equipment. Fabricators ensure all work meets quality, safety, and production standards while contributing to an efficient and well-organized manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Operate CNC Prototrak mills and conventional machines at an intermediate level, including selecting tooling, adjusting feeds and speeds, and producing parts to specifications with minimal supervision.
• Set up and run spot welders independently, ensuring proper fixture alignment, weld parameters, and quality verification for consistent structural integrity.
• Train and mentor new fabricators on all machine shop assembly skills, ensuring consistent development, safety, and quality standards.
• Interpret technical drawings, work instructions, and tolerances to plan machining sequences and fabricate more complex components.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following 5S standards and adhering to all safety rules, practices, and procedures to protect personal and team safety
• Complete Role Standard Work and deliver all other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Knowledge of machining practices, tooling selection, feeds, speeds, and material characteristics
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and indicators
• Knowledge of spot welding equipment, weld parameters, fixture alignment, and quality inspection methods
• Ability to troubleshoot machining and fabrication issues and make process adjustments as needed
• Ability to train, mentor, and provide guidance to less experienced fabricators
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts within specified tolerances
• Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple assignments in a manufacturing environment

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required; vocational or technical training in machining, manufacturing, welding, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum 1 years of machining/fabrication experience, including blueprint reading, GD&T application, and use of precision measuring instruments.
• Experience with spot welding operations preferred.
