Job summary

Ashland Conveyor Products is seeking an experienced fabricator to read blueprints and assemble metal and aluminum Conveyor components. You will layout to prints, operate MIG welding and auxiliary equipment, and ensure assemblies meet specifications.

The role involves complex conveyor builds and hands-on mentoring of teammates. The position requires at least 2 years in fabrication and welding, strong math basics, and the ability to work collaboratively.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years’ fabrication and welding experience.
• Able to read prints and work to specifications.
• Detail-oriented with math basics.
• Able to work in a team and adapt to overtime.

Responsibilities

• Follow work instructions and procedures.
• Monitor quality as required per Ashland and ISO 9001 standards.
• Log on/off jobs, transfer materials, and report pieces using data collection terminal or RF-Smart.
• Plan details of work order procedures; gather required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications.
• Interpret advanced prints and weld symbols.
• Lead complex powered conveyor builds and perform advanced troubleshooting.
• Read prints to layout and fabricate metal/aluminum product assemblies.
• Operate metal fabrication equipment (MIG Welder, Press Brake, Roll Former, Grinder, Drill, Cold Cut Saw, Iron Worker).
• Use layout tools and measurement instruments to fabricate components to print specifications.
• Perform quality checks on parts.
• Train and mentor others.
• Maintain, organize, and clean equipment and the work area.
• Report issues, equipment malfunctions, or quality concerns.
• Other duties as assigned which may include assembly areas if necessary due to workload

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

• At least 2 years’ experience in fabrication steel and welding.
• Ability to comprehend blueprints and work specifications.
• Detailed approach to daily work activities
• Basic understanding of mathematics as related to fabrication assignments.
• Able to work in a team-oriented work environment.
• Positive attitude, self-directed, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
