Job summary

Wastequip Manufacturing Company LLC is seeking a Fabricator in Alexandria, LA to fabricate steel parts per blueprints and work orders. You will operate a press brake and/or shear, lay out cutting lines, and position pieces for cutting on the machine bed.

Ideal candidates have 1+ years in a fast-paced production setting, can read tape measures, and understand basic CNC controls. The role offers competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Prior experience operating a Press Brake and/or Shear.
• Set up experience a plus.
• Understanding of basic CNC controls.
• 1+ years prior production experience preferred.
• Ability to read blue prints and measuring tape.
• Basic math and problem solving skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure).
• Experienced in a fast paced production environment.
• Able to pass all EHS required tests and clearances.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate steel and other metal parts per work orders and blueprints.
• Operate a Press Brake and/or Shear.
• Set up rake and pressure, and clamp stops for cutting length and angle.
• Position and lift workpieces with hoist or crane to bed or table.
• Inspect finished parts for dimensions.

Our ideal candidate will have the skills and experience necessary to fabricate steel parts and tools.Pay Range: $17.90 -$19.82 based on experience.RESPONSIBILITIESFabricate steel and other metal parts as indicated by the work order and blue printsOperating a Press Brake and/or ShearTurns handwheels to adjust rake (angle) and pressure of bladePositions and clamps stops and side guides to set length and angle of cutLifts workpiece manually or by hoist or crane to machine bed or roller table and positions it against side guide and end stopsStarts machine, which clamps workpiece and lowers blade to cut metalLays out cutting lines on metal when shearing single piecesTilts bed, blade, or installs fixtures to shear, bevel, or trim fabricated itemsOperates portable shear to cut sheet metalInspects work to verify dimensionsQUALIFICATIONSPrior experience operating a Press Brake and/or Shear.
