Job summary

PEC is seeking a Fabrication Yard Operations & Rigging Coordinator in Covington, GA to manage material flow across the structural steel yard. You will ensure safe operations, keep schedules on track, and place steel exactly where it belongs for production readiness.

You will coordinate daily with the Structural Steel Shop, fabrication teams, and drivers; stage materials for deliveries and Python processing; and uphold housekeeping and safety standards to prevent hazards and damage.

Qualifications

• Forklift certification preferred.
• Experience loading/unloading, staging, and moving heavy materials.
• Ability to create and maintain organized laydown yard and staging plan.
• Strong safety orientation and housekeeping habits.
• Clear communication with drivers, shop personnel, supervisors, and team members.

Responsibilities

• Daily yard orchestration: arrange, label, and maintain logical laydown areas for easy retrieval.
• Inbound/outbound handling: load and unload structural steel and components with certified forklift operation.
• Preserve clear travel paths so trucks, forklifts, lifts, and equipment move safely.
• Stage material for deliveries, pickups, and Python machine processing.
• Coordinate with Structural Steel Shop, fabrication teams, and drivers.
• Confirm materials land in correct locations and prevent damage or loss.
• Apply proper rigging for long, oversized, heavy members; maintain safety practices.
• Remove debris and perform pre-op checks; support with material moves as needed.
