Job summary

CAD-Engineering-Resources in Sterling Heights, MI is seeking a fabrication welder for custom assemblies on a contract shift (Afternoon, Mon–Fri, 3:00pm–2:00am, no Saturdays). You will produce weldments per specs, respond to requests, and document materials to keep inventory current.

You will also perform basic maintenance and monitor equipment, while following the Quality System and seeking process improvements. Attendance is essential for smooth production through the evening hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent blend of education and experience.
• Proven ability to read direction and apply welding techniques to meet defined specifications.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and safety.

Responsibilities

• Produce weldments to company and/or customer specifications as directed by your Supervisor.
• Respond quickly to shop-floor welding requests and complete them on time.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date counts of materials and consumables.
• Perform basic equipment and machinery maintenance; escalate issues to your Supervisor when repairs exceed your capabilities.
• Demonstrate consistent, reliable attendance to support production needs.
• Work within our Quality System and actively contribute to continuous improvement.

Fabrication Welder — Custom AssembliesLocation: Sterling Heights, MichiganEmployment Type: Contract | Shift: Afternoon | Schedule: Monday–Friday, 3:00pm–2:00am (no Saturdays)Compensation: Approximately $25.00 per hourA day in this roleWhen you step onto the floor at 3:00pm, your focus turns to building reliable weldments that meet exacting company and customer specifications. Requests come in from the shop; you prioritize and complete them efficiently, documenting what you use so materials and supplies stay current. Between tasks, you keep an eye on equipment performance—handling routine care yourself and promptly notifying your supervisor of anything that needs repair beyond your scope. Throughout the shift, you follow our Quality System and look for ways to improve processes. Regular, dependable attendance is essential to keep work moving through the evening and into the late hours.
