Job summary

Aethon Metal Fabrication in Maryville, TN is seeking an experienced Fabrication Waterjet Operator / Programmer. You will set up, program and run our CNC waterjet to cut steel, stainless, aluminum and other materials to print, turning drawings into accurate cut parts and keeping the machine running efficiently. Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 6:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

with four 10-hour days and a 3-day weekend. Overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Read blueprints and DXF/DWG files to determine part geometry and tolerances.
• Create and edit cutting programs using CAD/CAM and waterjet software.
• Set cutting parameters for material and thickness.
• Load, square and verify material with dry runs.
• Inspect parts with calipers and tape measures.

• Perform routine maintenance on nozzles, abrasive, tank, and pump.
• Coordinate with supervisors to meet production schedules.
• Keep cutting area clean and organized.

Aethon Metal Fabrication in Maryville, TN is hiring an experienced Fabrication Waterjet Operator / Programmer. You’ll set up, program and run our CNC waterjet to cut steel, stainless, aluminum and other materials to print, turning drawings into accurate cut parts and keeping the machine running efficiently.

Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 6:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (four 10-hour days, a 3-day weekend every week). Overtime as needed.

What you’ll do:

• Read blueprints, shop drawings and DXF/DWG files to determine part geometry, material, thickness and tolerances
• Create and edit cutting programs using CAD/CAM and waterjet software, including part nesting to maximize material yield
• Select cutting parameters (pressure, abrasive feed rate, cut speed, quality level) for each material and thickness
• Set up the waterjet: load and square material, set zero and verify programs with dry runs
• Run the waterjet and monitor cuts for accuracy, edge quality, taper and part movement
• Inspect first pieces and finished parts with tape measures, calipers and squares
• Remove, deburr, label and stage cut parts for the next fabrication step
• Load and unload material using overhead cranes, forklifts and lifting equipment
• Perform routine maintenance: change nozzles, orifices and mixing tubes, refill abrasive, clean the tank, and check the pump, seals and filters
• Work with supervisors and fabricators to prioritize jobs and meet production schedules
• Keep the cutting area clean and organized
