Job summary

Ferguson is hiring for a pipe fabrication operator who will cut, thread, bevel, groove, and weld pipe across carbon steel, stainless, copper, thermoplastics, and PVC. You’ll read blueprints, set up machines, and operate cranes and forklifts with strict safety practices.

Requires a high school diploma or GED; 4–6 years of pipe operation experience is preferred, plus 3–5 years forklift/MHE and 2–4 years welding experience. Weekend 12-hour shifts and direct hire offer a stable career path.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; trade/technical schooling or military experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and work instructions.
• Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and lifting equipment safely.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and troubleshoot minor issues.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Use RF devices to locate and stage material.

What You’ll Do

You’ll fabricate cut-to-length, finished-end pipe for customer orders and stock inventory --- working with carbon steel, stainless steel, copper, thermoplastic, and PVC across a wide range of pipe diameters.

• Cut, thread, bevel, groove, and weld specialized pipe materials
• Perform precise machine setups and verify measurements to required tolerances
• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and work instructions
• Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and mechanical lifting equipment safely
• Perform daily equipment inspections and troubleshoot minor issues
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area at all times
• Use RF devices to locate, move, and stage material as needed

Shift Schedule

Friday--Sunday

• 6:00 AM--6:00 PM
• Three 12-Hour Shifts
• Weekdays Off
• Direct Hire

Pay Range

$19.80 - $27.73
