Job summary

Meyers Manx in Irvine, CA is seeking a Design Fabrication Technician to machine and fabricate specialty vehicle parts under guidance of senior craftsmen. You will use hand and power tools, welding equipment, and machine tools such as mills and lathes to deliver high-quality parts.

Job description

The main duties of the Design Fabrication Technician include using hand / power tools, machine equipment, and welding equipment to machine and fabricate specialty vehicle parts under the guidance and supervision of senior craftsmen. Must have the ability to plan ahead, understand the basic mechanics of automobiles, weld, operate a mill, lathe and sheet metal equipment and offer the highest levels of accuracy and quality.

Requirements

• Produce prototype and small run parts for specialty vehicles
• Read measured 3 view drawings
• Follow design specification to machine, weld and fabricate parts
• Install parts on vehicles to assess and insure proper fit and finish
• Analyze current parts for improvements
• Work with the design team and build team to execute the future of Meyers Manx

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree from vocational or community college, 2 years of relative experience, or a combination of both
• Be able to lift 75lbs (Heavier items will be ‘Team lift’)
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment.
• Provide help/support within multiple departments as needed
• Produce legible and accurate paperwork reflecting work performed.
• Possess a valid state driver’s license (required for logistics as needed)
