Job summary

Golden Aluminum in Fort Lupton, Colorado is seeking a Fabrication Technician to transform materials into finished products. You will read blueprints, set up and operate MIG/TIG/arc welding equipment, and assemble components while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Troubleshoot shop activities effectively and safely.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics and work orders.
• Measure, cut, bend and shape metal components per plans.
• Join parts using welding, soldering, riveting or fasteners.
• Operate welding machines (MIG, TIG, arc) and hand tools.
• Inspect finished products for accuracy and adherence to specs.
• Follow plant safety policies and guidelines.
• Maintain clean and organized work space.
• Basic computer skills (Windows, Outlook, SharePoint, Word, Excel).
• Able to lift 50 pounds and work in varied positions.

• Follow and abide by all plant safety policies and guidelines
• Read blueprints, schematics and work orders to understand design requirements, layouts, dimensions and welding requirements.
• Measure, cut, bend and shape metal components and assemblies according to technical plans.
• Join parts using welding, soldering, riveting or fasteners, ensuring proper alignment and fit
• Operate various welding machines (e.g., MIG, TIG, arc) and hand power tools.
• Inspect finished products for accuracy, functionality and adherence to specifications.

Requirements

• Ability to demonstrate strong proficiency in troubleshooting in shop activities.
• Ability to effectively communicate, problem solve, and multi-task in both slow-pace & fast-paced environments.
• Proficiency in multiple welding techniques.
• Self-starter, requiring little supervision once training is complete, and be self-motivated when not given a specific task.
• Demonstrate ability and excel at safely operating overhead crane, fork trucks, and other mobile equipment.
• Precision-minded and maintain a clean and organized work space
• Basic computer skills (Windows, Microsoft Outlook, SharePoint, Word, & excel)
• Position can be physically demanding requiring ability to lift 50 pounds, ability to work in various positions (flat, vertical and overhead) and reach overhead frequently
