Job summary

Staffmark is hiring a Fabrication Support Technician for Georgetown, KY. The role requires hands-on welding and fabrication work with emphasis on safety and quality.

You will read blueprints, cut and shape metal, weld components, and operate plasma cutters, grinders, and saws to meet production standards. The position offers a Monday–Friday schedule from 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM with competitive weekly pay and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or metalworking environment
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures and PPE requirements
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed to meet production demands

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings to ensure production accuracy
  • Measure, cut, saw, grind, and shape raw metal materials to specifications
  • Fit, align, clamp, and tack-weld components prior to final assembly
  • Perform MIG, TIG, Stick, and FCAW welding on metal parts
  • Operate welding/fabrication equipment such as plasma cutters, grinders, and saws
  • Inspect welds and finished products for strength and quality compliance
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area
  • Collaborate with team to meet production schedules and quality standards
  • Support continuous improvement and assist with other shop duties

Education Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Technical training in welding, fabrication, manufacturing, or a related trade is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Strong understanding of workplace safety procedures, PPE requirements, and quality standards.
Experience Requirements
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or metalworking environment required.
  • Hands-on experience with MIG, TIG, Stick, and/or Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) processes.
  • Experience operating fabrication equipment, including plasma cutters, saws, grinders, and other shop machinery.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and perform welds to specification.
  • Strong attention to detail, dependability, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed to meet production demands.
Physical Capabilities
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work in a manufacturing environment for extended periods.
  • Capable of lifting, moving, and handling metal materials and fabricated components.
  • Able to work safely around welding equipment, heavy machinery, sparks, heat, and industrial tools.
  • Must consistently wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining quality, safety, and productivity standards.
Job Duties
