Job summary

Automation Personnel Services in Charlotte, NC, is seeking a Shop Foreman to oversee the fabrication shop's daily operations. The role provides leadership, direction, and accountability for production, quality, safety, equipment, employee development, and on-time delivery while ensuring adherence to customer commitments.

The position offers a schedule from 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday, with pay of $25+ per hour depending on experience.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.
Minimum 10 years of metal fabrication experience.
Minimum 5 years in a manufacturing leadership position.
Strong working knowledge of welding, laser cutting, press brake operations, machining, metal fabrication, blueprint reading, and quality inspection.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Lean Manufacturing and Quality Management System experience.
OSHA safety training and forklift certification.

Responsibilities

Direct all daily shop operations.
Coordinate workflow between Laser, Forming, Machining, Welding, Fabrication, Assembly, Shipping, and Material Handling.
Balance manpower and workloads to maximize efficiency.
Ensure work is completed according to schedules and customer commitments.
Monitor production progress and adjust priorities as necessary.
Eliminate bottlenecks and resolve production issues quickly.
Lead production meetings and communicate status to management.
Promote a zero-incident safety culture and ensure OSHA compliance.
Enforce PPE requirements and investigate accidents or near misses.
Meet or exceed on-time delivery goals and coordinate labor/equipment to meet deadlines.
Continuously improve shop efficiency and ensure compliance with drawings and work instructions.
Assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions; recommend equipment improvements.
