Job summary

JBS USA is seeking an Operation Manager for its Plainwell facility to oversee all facets of operations, ensure safety and product quality, and drive production efficiency. The role requires directing Superintendents on volume, costs, and schedules while coordinating with HR on personnel matters.

Candidates should have at least 5 years of supervisory meat-industry experience, strong English communication, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; college degree preferred but not required.
• Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in meat industry.
• Strong written and verbal English communication and leadership abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to work with others.
• Extensive knowledge of meat products, equipment and specifications.
• Ability to work in a cold, damp, noisy environment and on flexible hours including Saturdays.
• Bilingual skills are a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the efficient operation of all facility aspects and meet production schedules.
• Monitor production, review make-sheets, and set daily goals with Superintendents.
• Direct Superintendents on production volume, quality, cost, and delivery dates.
• Address employee grievances with Human Resources and maintain positive relations with agencies.
• Ensure yield targets and product safety standards are enforced with QA.
• Lead safety walks and correct non-compliance issues.
• Develop and support management team through meetings and coaching.
• Communicate policies and maintain collective bargaining agreement understanding.
• Contribute to JBS policies and procedures and foster cross-functional collaboration.

Job Title:Operation Manager

Essential Job Functions

• Responsible for the efficient and effective operation of all aspects of the Facility.
• Oversees efficiency throughmonitoring production, scanning make-sheets, and discussing daily goals with Superintendents.
• Directs Superintendentswith respect to production volume, quality, cost and meeting production schedules and delivery dates.
• Handles any employee grievance, dispute or problem in most efficient manner possible, working closely with Human Resources department as necessary.
• Maintainsacceptable yield levels on all products while producing product to specification.
• Perform daily safety walks and correct any non-compliance issues.
• Help develop the management team of theFacilitythrough active participation in group meetings.
• Trains and develops Superintendentsproviding guidance on managerialand teamworkskillsto attain department objectives.
• Works closely with the Quality AssuranceDepartment to ensure all product quality and food safety standards are enforced.
• Ensure all policies and the collective bargaining agreement is understood and enforced.
• Must maintain a positive working relationship with government agencies and help address any USDA regulatory issues.
• Contribute to the ongoing development ofJBSpolicies and procedures.
• Communicate to all levels within the organizationon information as needed.

Experience Required

• High school diploma or GED equivalent with preferred college degree.
• Minimum 5 years’supervisoryexperience working in meatindustry.
