Job summary

Nbutexas seeks a Fabrication Operations Manager (Shop Manager) to act as the shop's second-in-command and report directly to the owner. This role offers six-figure earnings based on your impact, team growth, and shop output, with no cap on earning capacity.

Responsibilities include overseeing daily shop and field activities, assigning tasks, enforcing schedules and quality control, and driving process improvements with a Workforce Optimization Platform.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily shop and field activities including templating, cutting, polishing, sink fabrication, equipment operation, material handling, installation, repair, and warranties.
  • Assign tasks to shop and field personnel with cost codes; ensure efficient resource allocation.
  • Adherence to schedules and quality control protocols; respond to QC requests and retrain as needed.
  • Provide hands-on training across fabrication and installation; cross-train staff.
  • Identify and eliminate bottlenecks to improve production efficiency and output.
  • Lead adoption of the Workforce Optimization Platform and automate processes where possible.
  • Serve as the communication link between shop operations and office for scheduling, client communications, pricing, and workflow resolution.
  • Ensure 100% daily task completion and address any quality issues promptly.

Job description

The Fabrication Operations Manager (Shop Manager) is the linchpin of the business and will serve as the second-in-command in the shop, reporting directly to the owner. This position is structured for six-figure earnings based on your direct participation, team growth, and overall shop output, with no cap on earning capacity!

  • A former stonework shop owner or highly experienced fabrication/install manager who deeply understands every aspect of the trade.
  • Candidates must demonstrate "reasonable proficiency" across all core technical areas
  • Possess the knowledge, ability, and propensity to rapidly elevate their current skill level

Fabrication Operations Manager Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee all daily shop and field activities, including templating, cutting, polishing, sink fabrication, equipment operation, material handling, installation, repair/warranty, and team member accountability
  • Assign tasks (cost codes) to all shop and field personnel, ensuring efficient allocation of resources
  • Adherence to schedules
  • Implement and enforce stringent quality control protocols, responding to QC requests from team members, approving/denying work based on standards, and providing necessary feedback or retraining.
  • Provide hands-on training to new hires and existing staff across all technical aspects of fabrication and installation, and cross-training.
  • Actively identify and eliminate bottlenecks within the production process, to enhance efficiency and output.
  • Lead the shop floor's adoption and effective utilization of the Workforce Optimization Platform ensuring smooth transition from manual to automated processes.
  • Act as the critical communication link between shop operations and the office, collaborating on scheduling, client communications, custom project pricing, and addressing workflow challenges.
  • Responsible for ensuring 100% daily task completion and for rectifying any quality issues that may arise
