Job summary

Habasit America Inc. is seeking a Level 1 Service Technician in Leesport, PA to install, maintain, and fabricate conveyor belting systems at customer sites and Habasit facilities.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform basic installations and repairs of conveyor belting systems.
• Operate machinery and hand tools for belting fabrication.
• Interpret work instructions, blueprints, and diagrams.
• Conduct basic inspections before, during, and after job completion.
• Follow fabrication and safety protocols including confined space procedures.
• Load/unload materials and stage items for installation.
• Identify and report nonconforming materials or safety hazards.
• Complete documentation including service reports and job logs.
• Drive and operate company vehicles to customer locations for service jobs.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Level 1 Service Technician performs installation, maintenance, and fabrication of conveyor belting systems at customer sites and the Habasit facility. This role supports field service operations with hands‑on tasks, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and production standards.

Technicians at this level must possess all core skills of the Apprentice Service Technician role and have completed all required Process Training Records (PTRs). The role includes independent equipment operation and travel to customer sites, requiring a valid driver’s license.

• Perform basic installations and repairs of conveyor belting systems
• Operate machinery and hand tools for belting fabrication
• Interpret work instructions, blueprints, and diagrams
• Conduct basic inspections before, during, and after job completion
• Follow fabrication and safety protocols including confined space procedures
• Load/unload materials and stage items for installation

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas
• Drive and operate company vehicles to customer locations for service jobs

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education

High School diploma or GED (required)

Experience

1–2 years of mechanical or field service experience (preferred)

Technical Skills

• Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills
• Ability to use measuring tools, hand tools, and fabrication equipment
• Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation
• Completed Apprentice-level PTRs and competencies (required)

Language

Ability to read, write, and comprehend English (required)

Certifications

• Valid driver’s license (required)
• Completion of Apprentice-level Process Training Records (required)

PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

• Standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lb
• Use of fabrication tools and operation of machinery
• Exposure to shop and field environments including temperature, dust, and noise
• PPE required per task (safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe shoes, hearing protection)

WORK SCHEDULE & TRAVEL

This is a full‑time hourly position. Employees must be available to work their assigned shift and may be required to work overtime, weekends, or holidays with appropriate notice. This role requires frequent travel within and outside the state for scheduled installations, maintenance, or troubleshooting. Employees must also be available for emergency customer service requests that may require on‑site visits on short notice. Shift assignments are subject to change based on business needs.
