Job summary

Hendrickson in Hebron, OH is seeking a part-time welder/assembly support role. The incumbent will operate welding equipment, read blueprints with geometric tolerancing, and perform quality checks in a heavy manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities include using plasma cutters, hoists, and cranes, while maintaining safety and accurate daily reporting. The position requires pursuing a High School Diploma or GED; successful weld testing is required.

Job Description

Position Purpose:

Welds components in a heavy manufacturing environment. Operates equipment, conducts required quality checks and interprets production work orders.

Essential Functions:

• Supply and operate welding systems. Make running adjustments as needed.
• Operate plasma cutters and material handling equipment such as overhead hoists and cranes.
• Lay out, position, and tack-weld parts to secure in position for welding.
• Perform preventive maintenance on assigned equipment as scheduled.
• Conduct required quality checks using basic measuring equipment.
• Accurately report daily activities on work orders, QAD Reporting, and Kanban cards and other media as required.
• Exercise safe working habits while operating machines. Keep machine and work areas clean and free of safety hazards.
• Comply with the Quality Management System.
• Adhere to Auxiliary Axle Systems Employee Handbook
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Training

• Must be pursuing High School Diploma or GED

Minimum Qualifications

• Must pass Hendrickson weld test.
• Must be able to reach and understand blueprints with geometric tolerancing.
• Be self-motivated and have strong initiative and strong communication skills.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand; walk; bend; balance; and grasp. Occasionally required to climb; squat; or kneel.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 50 pounds. Occasionally lift up to 75 pounds.
