Job summary

OGI Process Equipment is seeking an entry-level Fitter/Welder Helper to assist experienced welders and fitters in layout, preparation and assembly of components for OGI units. The role focuses on hands-on learning to develop welding and fitting skills and progress to a Fitter/Welder I after passing OGI's internal welding test.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a welding program, vocational school, or technical college.
• Some exposure to welding tools and safety practices through coursework or hands-on training.
• Interest in welding and fabrication as a career.

Responsibilities

• Assist with layout, measuring, and fitting of components under supervision.
• Hold, clamp, grind, and position parts for welding per specifications.
• Perform basic tack welding and assist with weld prep and post-weld cleanup.
• Learn to read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and engineering drawings.
• Develop welding and fitting skills through on-the-job training and supervised practice.
