Job summary

Carole Fabrics in Augusta, GA is seeking an Inspector 1 to inspect finished draperies, verify measurements, check hems and pattern alignment, and document repairs. This role ensures products meet quality standards and contributes to efficient production.

Qualifications

  • General knowledge of fabric.
  • Ability to use production equipment.
  • Ability to use hand tools.
  • Successfully pass color blind test.
  • Accurate with names, numbers and spelling.
  • Capable of standing for extended periods.
  • Capable of lifting on a continuous basis.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Handling all drapes that are to be quality checked.
  • Hang drapes on inspection racks and clamp with pneumatic clamps.
  • Checking for flaws, pattern match, grease or other defect in material.
  • Checking work tickets for special instruction.
  • Checking bottom and side hems for fullness and to see if sewn correctly.
  • Must be able to use judgment and make decisions when necessary.
  • Have all repairs sent back to each area by making a repair work ticket.
  • Checks the widths, length and returns before folding.
  • Removes all staples from side hems and checks to see if it is sewn correctly.
  • At times, removes pins from bottom hems.
  • Measures each side and at seams for correct length.

Position Overview

The Inspector 1 is responsible for inspecting finished draperies to ensure they meet quality standards. This includes checking for flaws, verifying correct measurements, inspecting hems and pattern alignment, and ensuring any necessary repairs are identified and documented.
