Job summary

Design Foundry is seeking a Material Handler – Fabric Picking to support our upholstery production. You will locate, pull, and deliver fabric materials to production areas, ensuring correct type, color, and quantity.

This role requires collaboration with the Fabric Department and reporting to the Operations Manager to maintain efficiency and quality in Hickory, NC. Experience with inventory systems is important, and forklift certification is preferred or required within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-2 years experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment, preferably in fabric or textile handling.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in picking orders.
• Basic computer skills for inventory management systems.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• We Own It: Accurately locate and pick fabric materials from inventory based on production orders or requests, ensuring correct type, color, and quantity.

• Inspect fabric during picking to identify any defects or quality issues, reporting them to the Fabric Department Lead.

• Assist with inventory counts and audits to maintain accurate records.
• Adhere to workplace safety protocols, fostering a safe and secure work environment.
