Job summary

Gap Inc is seeking an accomplished leader to head its R&D Materials team, reporting to the VP of Materials R&D. You will translate design concepts into scalable material strategies that support product creation and innovation, partnering with Design to ensure fabric development aligns with the brand's creative vision.

Qualifications

• Minimum ~10 years of experience in textile/fabric R&D in large multi-brand fashion.
• Proven ability to translate design vision into material strategies.
• Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration across geographies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor an R&D materials team to deliver fabric innovations.
• Partner with Design to translate concept to seasonal materials.
• Oversee fabric development from concept through development and testing.
• Drive sustainability and responsible material strategies.
• Manage mill network partnerships and supplier relationships.
• Track fabric development KPIs and ensure alignment with brand strategy.
• Travel globally to mills and suppliers to advance initiatives.
