Job summary

Kids for the Future is hiring for a full-time production worker in Pennsylvania. You will lift fabric up to 50 lbs, work in a humid environment, and move heavy boxes between work areas.

You will read dye slip instructions in English and operate a computer to adjust settings per product requirements. Training is provided for dye/bleach/finish processes, and you will participate in safety training and wear PPE.

Qualifications

  • Read and understand English.
  • Lift 50 lbs repetitively throughout shift.
  • Stand for most of the shift.
  • Push/pull wheeled boxes of fabric between areas.
  • Operate tow motor vehicles (training provided).
  • Wear PPE: safety glasses and steel-toe footwear.
  • Participate in safety training (class/webinar).
  • Communicate effectively with peers and supervisors.
  • Legible handwriting.
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).

Responsibilities

  • Lift dry and wet fabric, up to 50 lbs repetitively, to set up for process and after process.
  • Work in a humid/wet environment.
  • Move large wheeled boxes of fabric between work areas in Frame building.
  • Read and understand dye slip instructions, in English.
  • Use computer interface to change settings determined by product requirements.
  • Evaluate product for defects before, during, and after processing.
  • Understand customer requirements for finished product (width, shrinkage, weight, chemical application).
  • Understand basics of the dye/bleach/finish business (training provided).
  • Other tasks manager asks of employee.
