Job summary

American Leather Operations LLC in Archdale, NC is hiring a Fabric Cutter Operator to support the Foam Department. Under the Foam Fabrication Manager, you will operate the cutting machine, monitor production, and ensure quality aligns with specifications.

You will follow safety procedures, maintain equipment and workspace, and assist with basic maintenance. This role requires reliability and flexibility to work across production areas as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience operating cutting or machining equipment.
• At least 1 year in a factory setting.
• Basic computer skills to input commands and operate equipment.
• Knowledge of cutting methods to meet quality specifications.
• Flexibility to work across production areas as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate Fabric Cutting machine and follow preprogrammed cutting instructions.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow PPE safety regulations.
• Report defective materials or conditions to the Foam Fabrication Manager.
• Perform prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as assigned.
• Be willing to work in different production areas as needed.

JOB TITLE: FabricCutter Operator

REPORTS TO: Foam Fabrication Manager

SUMMARY

Under direction of the Foam Fabrication Manager, the Fabric Cutter Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Fabric Cutting machine. The Operator ensures sufficient production levels are met by maintaining efficient operation of their assigned machine

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs typical machine shop and material cutting operations to support the production floor.
• Enter commands in computer control console to retrieve preprogrammed cutting instructions and starts machine.
• Detects and reports defective materials or questionable machine and or production conditions to the Foam Fabrication Manager or lead.
• Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition
• Follows prescribed safety regulations for use of P.P.E.
• Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on machines
• Must be familiar with the basic machine functions in order to perform the tasks stated above.
• Must be willing to accept and receive frequent supervision and assistance with regard to machine set-up.
• Flexibility to work in any area production area as needed from time to time

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Experience as a machine operator or
• Minimum of 1 year of factory-related experience.
• Basic familiarity operating a computer
• Must be knowledgeable in cutting methods and be able to complete job to quality specifications.
• Flexibility to work a changing work schedule according to production demands
• Ability to work collaboratively with among departments
