Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. in Manassas, VA is seeking a Fab Support Equipment Maintenance Technician to maintain and troubleshoot critical manufacturing support equipment, collaborating with engineers and vendors to ensure process reliability.

Qualifications

• Willingness to adapt to varying job responsibilities and shift assignments, including night shifts.
• Ability to work 12‑hour shifts (3 on/4 off and 4 on/3 off).
• Demonstrated strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, excellent communication, and teamwork skills.
• Proficient understanding of AC/DC and digital electronics circuits, including foundational knowledge of electricity.
• Associate degree in a relevant field or progress toward a STEM‑related degree; equivalent military training or pertinent work experience.
• Mechatronics, robotics, fundamentals of electricity, electrical power and machinery, or statics.
• Prior experience in the semiconductor industry.
• Automotive ASE Certifications.
• Interest in developing Agentic AI workflows into current or future processes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular preventive maintenance and troubleshooting to mitigate equipment downtime.
• Perform electrical and mechanical diagnostics to identify issues with equipment used in manufacturing.
• Disassemble, adjust, repair, and assemble equipment based on layout plans, blueprints, operating manuals, or technical drawings.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to facilitate successful process improvements.
• Monitor equipment performance, making necessary adjustments to optimize production efficiency.
• Rebuild manufacturing equipment as required.
• Adhere rigorously to safety protocols and ensure the maintenance of a clean work environment.
• Improve workplace efficiency leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications provided.

Fab Support Equipment Maintenance Technician

Location: Manassas, VA.

Fab Support Equipment Technicians play a critical role in maintaining, monitoring, and enhancing support equipment such as point-of-use abatement systems, chillers/heat exchangers, vacuum pumps, and liquid source delivery cabinets within our manufacturing operations. In collaboration with equipment engineers and tool vendors, you will ensure operational efficiency and reliability, implementing effective solutions to meet stringent quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular preventive maintenance and troubleshooting to mitigate equipment downtime.
• Perform electrical and mechanical diagnostics to identify issues with equipment used in manufacturing.
• Disassemble, adjust, repair, and assemble equipment based on layout plans, blueprints, operating manuals, or technical drawings.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to facilitate successful process improvements.
• Monitor equipment performance, making necessary adjustments to optimize production efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications

• Willingness to adapt to varying job responsibilities and shift assignments, including night shifts.
• Ability to work 12‑hour shifts (3 on/4 off and 4 on/3 off), capable of standing for extended periods and lifting heavy equipment.
• Demonstrated strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, excellent communication, and teamwork skills.
• Proficient understanding of AC/DC and digital electronics circuits, including foundational knowledge of electricity.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree in a relevant field, progress toward a STEM‑related degree, equivalent military training, or pertinent work experience.
• Practical proficiency in mechatronics, robotics, fundamentals of electricity, technical writing, electrical power and machinery, or statics.
• Prior experience in the semiconductor industry.
• Automotive ASE Certifications.
• Experience and/or interest in developing Agentic AI workflows into current or future processes.
