Job summary

Menzies Aviation at Tampa International Airport is hiring for a ramp agent. You will safely move cargo and baggage, operate equipment and read loading instructions to support aircraft operations.

Requirements include 18+, HS diploma or GED (or 6 months ramp experience), ability to lift 70 lbs, and a valid driver’s license. Pre-employment drug testing and outdoor work across weather conditions apply.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old.
• Must have a high school diploma, GED, or six months ramp agent experience.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test.
• Capable of safely lifting up to 70 lbs. continuously.
• Must speak, read, and write English fluently.
• Must have a current driver’s license with no violations in the past 5 years.
• Must be available for variable shifts, overtime, weekends and holidays.
• Work is outdoors; be comfortable in all weather conditions.
• Must obtain and maintain all required Airports and Custom badges/seals.

Responsibilities

• Move and load 70 lbs. of cargo on/off aircraft and transport between aircraft, terminals and facilities.
• Frequent bending, stretching, pushing/pulling, stacking and kneeling in confined spaces.
• Operate motorized equipment.
• Read weight and balance loading instructions, hazard labels, manifests, and routing tags.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Location: Tampa International Airport, Florida

Pay: $16.00/hour

• $0.50 pay increases at 180 days
• $0.50 pay increase at 360 days
• $0.50 increase at 2 years

What you will be doing:

• Comfortably and continuously lift/move 70 lbs. of cargo and baggage on and off aircraft and transport it between aircraft, airport terminals and air cargo facilities.
• Frequent bending, stretching push/pulling, stacking and kneeling in small, confined locations.
• Operate motorized equipment.
• Read and interpret aircraft weight and balance loading instructions, hazardous material identification labels, aircraft loading manifests, and baggage and cargo routing tags.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
