• Operate Multivac packaging equipment safely and efficiently.
• Monitor machine performance and adjust settings for optimal operation and product specifications.
• Inspect packaging samples for quality and correct labeling.
• Perform routine maintenance including cleaning, lubrication and minor part replacement.
• Maintain sanitation and follow SSOPs and GMPs in food production environment.
• Keep production records and report irregularities or maintenance needs to supervisors.
• Collaborate with quality control and maintenance teams and assist training of new personnel.

ABOUT THE ROLE

A Robot Patty Packing Operatorensures proper operation of the DCM Robotic Patty Packing machine, runs and monitors automated lines that pick, place, and pack food patties, focusing onsetup, quality control, troubleshooting minor issues (like jams or misalignments), sanitation, and documentation, ensuring continuous, efficient, and safe food production in a fast-paced environment, adhering strictly to food safety standards.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Machine Operation:Safely and efficientlyutilizecomputerized screens and controls to set up and operate Multivac packaging equipment.

• Monitoring and Adjustment:Continuouslymonitormachine performance, making necessary adjustments to settings tomaintainoptimaloperation and product specifications.

• Quality Control:Inspect packaging samples to ensure they meet quality standards, are correctly labeled, andcomply withproduct descriptions.

• Maintenance & Troubleshooting:Perform routine maintenance tasks including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing minor parts. Troubleshoot basic mechanical or operational issues to minimize downtime.

• Sanitation & Hygiene:Adhere to strict food safety and sanitation guidelines, including SSOPs (Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures) and GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), usingappropriate chemicalsand tools for cleaning the equipment and work area.

• Documentation:Maintainaccurateproduction records and report any irregularities or maintenance needs to supervisors.

• Teamwork & Training:Collaborate with quality control, maintenance teams, and fellow operators. Mayassistin training new personnel on machine operation and safety protocols.

• Compliance with all otherdutiesassigned.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

• High school diploma or GED.

• Must display “hands on knowledge” of all assigned machines and procedures in the Grinding Room,formingarea, Packaging area, Auto Packer area, Scale Room area, and/or Finished Product Robot area.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

• Ability to read andcomprehendsimple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

• Ability to write simple correspondence.

• Ability to use effective problem-solving skills.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

• Ability to use mathematical functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication,division,in accordance withproduction paperwork.

• Ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance.

PHYSICAL AND VISUAL ACTIVITIES:

• Ability to perform a variety of tasks in the meat department.

• Ability to visually differentiate items of color, up close and in the distance

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to wear personal protective equipment and/or clothing.

• Stand/walk 7 or more hours per day.

• Constantly use eye/hand or eye/hand/foot coordination to perform tasks.

• Constantly twist/turn, talk/hear, and taste/smell.

• Frequently squat, bend, reach, handle/finger, grip/grasp and use fine motor tasks.

• Frequentlylift upto 25 lbs. from floor to overhead and carry 30-50 feet.

• Occasionally climb.

• Occasionallylift upto 60 lbs. from floor to shoulder level and carry 30 feet.

• Push 60 lbs. block of frozen meat 1-5 feet.

• Pull emptycontainers30 feet.

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.

ENVIRONMENTAL/ATMOSPHERIC CONDITIONS:

• Constantly work in damp, wet,humidand slippery environments.

• Constantly work near moving machinery with fumes or airborne debris.

• Constantly work with toxic or caustic chemicals.

• Constantly work in extreme heat/cold (35-40 degrees).

• Constantly workinhigh noise levels requiring hearing protection.

• Occasionally work in high places and working on equipment causingwhole-bodyvibration.
