Job summary

Wayfinder Newport is a boutique hotel within Pyramid Global Hospitality in Newport, Rhode Island. The Food & Beverage Supervisor will oversee daily dining operations, lead and develop the team, and ensure exceptional guest experiences in a dynamic coastal setting.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Degree in hospitality or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in food and beverage or hospitality.
  • Prior supervisory experience required.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on guest satisfaction.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, service-driven environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and industry best practices.
  • Ability to stand and remain active for extended periods.
  • Flexible schedule, including availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to lift and carry moderate weights as required.

Responsibilities

  • Attend weekly meetings and communicate key updates and upcoming events to team members.
  • Share information about the restaurant’s offerings and capabilities with other departments and guests.
  • Oversee daily food and beverage operations, ensuring seamless service flow and team coordination.
  • Anticipate guest needs, respond promptly to requests, and resolve concerns professionally.
  • Monitor food quality, presentation, and overall service standards.
  • Ensure consistent adherence to food, beverage, and service standards.
  • Support cost control efforts for food, beverage, and labor.
  • Assist with inventory management, receiving, and product utilization.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating exceptional service standards and operational excellence.
  • Foster a positive work environment that encourages employee engagement and retention.
  • Collaborate with kitchen and management teams to improve service efficiency.
  • Support all opening and closing procedures to ensure operational readiness.
  • Assist with hiring, training, and development of team members.
  • Provide support across other food and beverage outlets as needed.

Nestled within our boutique hotel, Little Clam offers an immersive culinary experience celebrating the freshness of local seafood and seasonal produce. Our menu highlights New England’s rich coastal heritage with a focus on New England's iconic coastal cuisine. Compensation

Compensation: $19.00 - $20.00
