Job summary

Deer Valley Resort in Utah is seeking experienced culinary professionals for Assistant Sous Chef and Sous Chef roles. Positions are seasonal or year-round across multiple restaurant locations, with duties guiding kitchen staff and ensuring high-quality dining experiences.

You will work under the executive chef, develop menu items, and help manage staffing, forecasting, and training. This role offers competitive pay and access to resort staff perks.

Qualifications

• Experience in a supervisory capacity in a fine dining restaurant kitchen.
• Must hold a current SafeServe certificate.
• Able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs and perform repetitive movements in warm environments.

Responsibilities

• Operate the kitchen with attention to food quality, taste, and presentation.
• Develop new menu items in coordination with the executive chef.
• Direct kitchen personnel in the absence of the executive chef.
• Carry out payroll, scheduling, recruiting, training, supervising, and disciplining kitchen staff.
• Ensure efficient production flow and portion consistency in recipes.
• Maintain equipment and facilities in proper condition.
• Maintain safe and sanitary working conditions per health codes.
• Other duties as assigned.

PURPOSE OF POSITION

Back of house culinary staff assist the executive chef with daily supervision and direction of kitchen staff.

Assistant Sous Chef and Sous Chef positions available in multiple restaurant locations - seasonal or year round

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate the kitchen with great attention to food quality, taste, and presentation
• Develop new menu items in conjunction with the executive chef
• Direct kitchen personnel in the absence of the executive chef
• Carry out administrative functions, including forecasting, payroll, scheduling, recruiting, training, supervising, and disciplining kitchen staff
• Organize an efficient flow of production and assure quality and portion consistency in recipes
• Ensure proper maintenance of the equipment and facilities
• Maintain safe and sanitary working conditions in accordance with health codes
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in a supervisory capacity in a fine dining restaurant kitchen required
• Possess a current SafeServe certificate
• Able to lift and carry a minimum of 40 lbs.
• Able to withstand frequent up/down, twisting, and repetitive movements in warm temperature environments

PAY RATE

Depending on experience.
