Job summary

Eye Vision Associates in Nesconset, NY is seeking a passionate Optical Sales Associate to join our team. You will help customers select frames and lenses, educate on lens options and coatings, and ensure accurate order processing for timely delivery.

The role blends sales with healthcare-adjacent care in a patient-facing environment. We value strong customer service, attention to detail, and the ability to explain vision plans like VSP or EyeMed.

Qualifications

• Prior optical sales or dispensing experience preferred.
• Familiarity with ophthalmic lenses, frames, and vision insurance plans (VSP, EyeMed, etc.).
• Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to accurately process orders and prescriptions.
• ABO certification a plus, but not required.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, patient-facing environment.
• Proficiency with optical dispensing software or point-of-sale systems is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in selecting frames, lenses, and optical products that meet their vision and lifestyle needs.
• Interpret prescriptions and educate patients on lens options, coatings, and upgrades.
• Process optical orders accurately and coordinate with lab for timely delivery.
• Perform frame adjustments and minor repairs to ensure proper fit.
• Maintain and merchandise optical dispensary displays and frame inventory.
• Build lasting patient relationships to drive repeat business and referrals.
• Meet and exceed individual and team sales goals.
