Job summary

KREWE, an independent, high-fashion eyewear brand, is seeking an Eyewear Designer based in New Orleans. Lead concept-to-production design, collaborate across teams, and shape future product direction with input from the design team. This role reports to the VP, Product Design.

Based at our New Orleans headquarters, you will contribute to a fast-paced, mission-driven environment, with travel to NYC roughly four times per year to coordinate with cross-functional partners.

Qualifications

• Experience designing eyewear, from concept to production.
• Strong organizational skills and proactive processes.
• Ability to travel to NYC ~4 times per year.

Responsibilities

• Supports end-to-end design and development of new products from concept through production.
• Researches trends, color, materials, and consumer insights for future product opportunities.
• Develops seasonal color palettes and product concepts aligned with brand direction.
• Creates clear design briefs and coordinates cross-functional input throughout development.
• Partners with Marketing to align product with campaigns, merchandising, and channel needs.
• Prepares sketches, renderings, specifications, and presentation materials to communicate design intent.
• Collaborates with Product Development, Sourcing, and vendors to refine designs and resolve production challenges.
• Maintains organized product documentation, samples, and timelines.
• Supports VP, Product Design in building a scalable design process with fresh ideas.

We are currently searching for an Eyewear Designer to expand the department’s design capacity while leading its understanding of future product, color, and trend opportunity. This individual will carry that point of view through product completion, coordinating input from across the design team rather than generating it alone. This role reports to the Vice President, Product Design.
This role is based in our New Orleans Headquarters 5 days a week.

Key Responsibilities

• Supports the end-to-end design and development of new products, from concept through production.
• Researches trends, color, materials, and consumer insights to support the identification of future product opportunities.
• Develops seasonal color palettes and product concepts aligned with the brand's design direction.
• Creates clear design briefs and coordinates cross-functional input throughout the product development process.
• Partners closely with Marketing to develop products that support campaign, merchandising, and channel needs.
• Prepares sketches, renderings, specifications, and presentation materials to communicate design intent.
• Collaborates with Product Development, Sourcing, and external vendors to refine designs and resolve production challenges.
• Maintains organized product documentation, samples, and development timelines.
• Supports the VP, Product Design in building a consistent, scalable product design process while contributing fresh ideas and creative solutions.

Requirements

• Eyewear design and development experience in educational, internship, or professional capacity
• Entrepreneurial spirit and drive.
• Highly organized and proactive in creating and maintaining processes and systems.
• Result driven, detail oriented individual, with an ability to work independently in a high-performance environment.
• Focus on delivering individual goals that ladder up to overall company goals.
• As part of the design and decision process, comfort with trying on frames and documenting fit through modeling of the product.
• Ability to travel to New York City approx. 4 times per year
