Eye Specialists of Mid-Florida P.A. in Haines City, FL is seeking an Optometric Technician to deliver high-quality patient care. Training will cover case history documentation, testing procedures, and ophthalmic terminology.

A strong emphasis on confidentiality, professional demeanor, and teamwork will be expected. Required are a high school diploma or GED, COA certification within 18 months, and may include up to two years of ophthalmic experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of home study ophthalmic program within six months.
• JCAHPO COA Certification required within 18 months.
• Two years optometric experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Document case history, provide patient testing and assist physician as directed.
• Obtain eyeglass prescriptions via lensometer and perform testing (Slit Lamp, Visual Fields, Tonometry, OCT).
• Assist ophthalmologists with injections and postoperative care as needed.
• Communicate physician instructions to patients and document accordingly.
• Support scheduling, maintain clean patient lanes and proper end‑of‑day turnover.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality at all times.
