Job summary

AbbVie in Irvine, CA seeks an Associate Director of Regulatory Affairs US Advertising and Promotion for Eye Care to lead strategy and cross-functional teams across Medical, Marketing, Regulatory and Legal. This role requires deep knowledge of advertising regulations, matrix management experience, and strong communication.

The position offers a hybrid schedule with offices in Irvine, Mettawa, IL, and Florham Park, NJ.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science required; advanced degrees preferred.
• 8+ years pharma experience with Bachelor's; 5+ years with PharmD plus ad promo experience.
• Solid understanding of regulatory advertising and promotion regulations.
• Experience working in a complex, matrix environment.
• Strong oral and written communication; management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Make decisions and plans for operations within area of responsibility with minimal direction. Sets strategy and leads cross-functional/multidisciplinary teams and multidivisional initiatives.
• Maintains and evaluates productivity metrics to forecast current and future business needs.
• Aligns and maintains effective communication with Medical, Marketing, Regulatory, Legal and Public Affairs counterparts; identifies process improvements and leads initiatives.
• Assists in managing the departmental budget and communicates budget needs to Operations and Finance.
• Collects and analyzes issues/trends affecting business to act on cross-organization opportunities; uses knowledge of global marketplace and technology.
• Operates independently; in absence of Director, handles day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives with significant impact.
