Job summary

EY-Parthenon seeks a Senior Associate in Corporate Finance specializing in Quantitative Finance and Economics to support litigation and antitrust engagements. You will build econometric models, perform valuations, and advise on market definitions, collaborating with testifying experts and clients.

This role requires strong Python skills and the ability to manage complex analyses in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 1 year of related work experience; or a graduate degree and at least 1 year of related work experience; or an advanced degree (master’s or PhD) in economics, finance, statistics, econometrics, mathematics, financial engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Experience in economic consulting for litigation or economic antitrust for merger approvals is preferred.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Python.

Responsibilities

• Support testifying experts in commercial litigation matters, including preparing expert and rebuttal reports, depositions and trial materials.
• Build valuation and damages models and perform analyses using Python and other statistical tools.

Our Quantitative Finance & Economics team is part of the EY-Parthenon Corporate Finance practice. Our CLEAR (Commercial Litigation and Economic Antitrust) team is part of the EY-Parthenon practice. We advise clients, law firms, and corporate counsel on the economics of complex commercial disputes and the antitrust review of mergers and acquisitions. Our work spans expert testimony, damages and valuation analysis, class certification, econometric modeling, and merger clearance before competition authorities. As a member of our team, you'll work across a broad variety of litigation and antitrust engagements, supporting testifying experts, building economic and econometric models, and translating complex analyses into clear, defensible conclusions. You will be seen as an expert in applied economics, econometrics, valuation and the analysis of competition and damages. Your Key Responsibilities

• Supporting testifying experts in commercial litigation matters, including the preparation of expert reports, rebuttal reports, and materials for depositions and trial.
• Building valuation and damages models, and performing analyses using Python and other statistical tools.
• Researching industries, markets, and individual companies relevant to litigation and merger matters.
• Conducting economic and econometric analysis in support of liability, damages, and class certification.
• Advising clients and counsel on the antitrust review of mergers and acquisitions, including relevant market definition and competitive effects.
• Developing and applying econometric and quantitative models, including hypothetical monopolist test (HMT/SSNIP) analyses, GUPPI and upward pricing pressure measures, merger simulation, and diversion ratio estimation.
• Preparing and presenting findings to internal teams, clients, and counsel, and supporting experts in regulatory submissions and before competition authorities.
• Working with clients and counsel to establish clear, well-documented analytical processes and workpapers that withstand scrutiny.

To qualify for the role, you must have

• Experience in one or both of the following, with strength in at least one:
• Economic consulting for litigation: preparing expert reports, supporting depositions and trial testimony, damages and valuation analysis, class certification work, and presenting analytical results.
• Economic antitrust for merger approvals: M&A deal clearance, relevant market definition, and econometric modeling, including the hypothetical monopolist test (HMT), GUPPI, merger simulation, and competitive effects analysis.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Python.
• A solid foundation in microeconomics, industrial organization, and business and complex securities valuation.
• Knowledge of Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters, or Capital IQ is a plus.
• Experience working with large datasets is a plus.
• Ability to work within a given budget and schedule, providing top-quality results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Proficiency in the English language, including the ability to listen, understand, read, and communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, in a professional environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing multiple tasks, deadlines, and project stakeholders.
• A strong work ethic, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a dynamic environment full of new challenges and ideas.
• You must either reside in or be in a commutable distance to your office location for this position.
• The ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary. In certain circumstances, travel may be required beyond your work location based on client and project needs.

Ideally, you will have

• Experience supporting testifying experts in litigation or regulatory proceedings.
• Familiarity with the merger review process before U.S. and international competition authorities.
• Progress toward or achievement of a CFA, FRM, PRM, or ASA/AM designation is a plus.
• Knowledge of how to leverage firm-approved AI tools in a business setting, including Microsoft Copilot.

• We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $113,100 to $186,700. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $135,700 to $212,200. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
