About the Position

The Extrusion Technician I is an entry‑level role within the extrusion department responsible for safely packing, inspecting, and handling finished products while supporting extrusion operations. The role plays a key part in maintaining product quality, production flow, and housekeeping standards, and provides hands‑on exposure to extrusion processes. This position is a developmental role for employees seeking advancement within the extrusion career path.

Job Function / Purpose

The Extrusion Technician I supports extrusion operations by safely packing, inspecting, and handling finished product, assisting with basic production activities, and ensuring product quality and efficient production flow while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Responsibilities

• Safely pack, bundle, and label extruded product according to work instructions and customer specifications.
• Visually inspect product for defects, damage, or quality concerns and report issues to the Extrusion Operator or Supervisor.
• Support extrusion line operations by assisting with material handling, line clean‑up, and equipment preparation under direction.
• Maintain a consistent production flow by keeping packing areas organized and free of obstructions.
• Accurately complete required production, scrap, and packing documentation.
• Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and plant policies at all times.
• Identify and report unsafe conditions, near misses, or equipment concerns immediately.
• Maintain housekeeping standards in accordance with 5S and department expectations.
• Work collaboratively with team members to meet production, quality, and safety goals.
• Participate in training and demonstrate willingness to learn extrusion processes and equipment.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
