Job summary

Sequel Wire and Cable LLC in Argos, IN is seeking an Extrusion Operator to oversee insulation extrusion equipment (PVC/CV). You will perform set-ups, operate machinery, monitor processes, and ensure safety and quality in a 24/7 production environment.

Starting pay begins at $20.00 per hour, with higher rates for relevant experience. This full-time role reports to the Plant Manager and requires ability to work a rotating schedule, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Manufacturing experience preferred, wire/cable a plus.
• Ability to read and understand work orders and SOPs.
• Computer experience is desired.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Extrusion Operator will oversee the operation of Sequel's insulating extrusion equipment, PVC and/or CV, in the most efficient manner possible by performing set-ups, operating machinery, and monitoring the process at all times.

Essential Job Functions

• Read and comprehend production work orders and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Use overhead cranes and forklift to move materials.
• Complete and record quality testing.
• Complete all required paperwork.
• Operate and maintain extrusion machinery and equipment.
• Adhere to all safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean work area.
• Use a computer to enter production information and generate labels.
• Meet all production and quality goals and standards.

Skills And Abilities

• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Working knowledge of computers.
• Forklift driving experience desired, training provided.
• Use of overhead cranes desired, training provided.
• Production or extrusion equipment operation experience preferred.
• Understand and adhere to ISO certification requirements.
• Ability to work overtime.
• Ability to work weekends.
• Strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Previous manufacturing experience- wire and cable manufacturing is a plus.
• Ability to read and understand work orders and product specifications.
• Computer experience is desired.

Work Environment

The essential functions of this job require working within a production facility with exposure to various noise levels from machinery and equipment.

Physical Demands

This is an active role as the employee will work in a manufacturing environment. While performing the essential functions of the job the employee will be required to stand, balance or walk on a consistent basis during a 12-hour shift and may on a frequent basis be required to twist, turn, stoop, squat, kneel, bend or reach. The employee must use safe lifting techniques when lifting objects up to 50 pounds and carry out repetitive hand/wrist movements to include forearm rotation. Specific vision abilities required for the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is frequently required to listen and speak and use their hands to operate equipment.

Work Schedule

Our facility operates 24/7. Qualified candidates must be able to work a flexible/rotating work schedule, including weekends, and cover overtime as needed. Night shift hours are 5p to 5a EST.
