Job summary

TekniPlex in Winston-Salem, NC is seeking an experienced Extruder Operator/Assistant to join a manufacturing team dedicated to safe, high-quality film and laminating production.

You will support the extrusion line, direct crew activities, monitor product quality, process parameters, and assist maintenance with routine repairs. A background in reading and math, and GMP/JSA safety practices, is preferred. This role offers stable full-time hours in a dynamic, global company.

Qualifications

• Reading and math proficiency demonstrated.
• IVO certification training completed.
• JSA reading completed.
• GMP knowledge and practices.
• Experience as extruder helper/assistant; able to direct a crew.
• Capable of interpreting lab data and adjusting processes.

Responsibilities

• Direct crew activities and supervise tasks.

• Changeover machine and set up appropriate web path.
• Assist maintenance with routine machine repairs.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Successful Completion of Reading & Math
• Successful Completion of IVO certification training. ( Industrial Vehicle Operator )
• Successful Completion of JSA reading. ( Job Safety and Health Analysis)
• Successful Completion of GMP ( Good Manufacturing Practices)
• Capable of performing all the tasks of an extruder helper and assistant.
• Capable of directing the activities of his/her crew.
• Monitor product quality, process parameters, and crew performance.
• Demonstrated leadership ability.
• Able to disassemble and clean extrusion die.
• Basic understanding of inks and printability.
• Knowledgeable in using a strobe light to identify print and web defects.
• Understanding of how to measure and adjust viscosity.
• Change impression and nip rolls.
• Able to interpret lab data and make the appropriate process adjustments.
• Set and adjust extruder coating and laminating weight.
• Working knowledge of profile control and die adjustment.
• Capable of setting process parameters based on SOP and MOP.
• Knowledge of different polymer resins and their melt temperatures.
• Able to change resins and use the appropriate purge procedure.
• Good understanding of die care and maintenance.
• Changeover machine and select the proper web path and materials based on production order.
• Assist maintenance with routine machine repairs.
• Prepare, clean, and change screen pack and coex adapter.
• Able to install and remove droll stick.
• Understand copy standards and cylinder unwind direction.
• Capable of installing and operating steam bar.
• Recognize and correct print and other product quality defects.
• Good mainframe and Lotus Notes computer skills.
• Basic keyboarding skills. Qualified extruder helper with at least two years experience.
• Qualified extruder assistant with a least one year experience.
• Qualify as an Assistant Extruder Operator or Assistant Press Extruder Operator
