Job summary

Merit Medical is seeking an experienced production operator to support extrusion operations on the manufacturing floor. You will run mandrel, wirebraid and compounding lines, monitor equipment and ensure output meets quality standards.

Responsibilities include operating, maintaining and troubleshooting extruders, processing work orders, and assisting in new product introductions while coordinating with materials, production and NPD teams. Safety and teamwork are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• Education equal to high school diploma with three years of related experience.
• Knowledge of extrusion equipment such as extruders, braiders, pullers, cutters, dies.
• Self-motivated with good judgment to maintain quality and productivity.
• Ability to read, write and perform basic math and follow procedures.

Essential Functions Performed

1. Operates extrusion equipment for the mandril, wirebraid, and compounding lines.
2. Operates, maintains and troubleshoots extruders, blenders, cutters, pullers, water baths, and sizing equipment.
3. Processes various documentation, such as work orders.
4. Assists in the implementation of new products and equipment.
5. Contributes to meeting department goals and operational metrics.
6. Assists extrusion supervisor in training other production operators.
7. Contributes to a positive and safe working environment and the overall team efforts of the department.
8. Coordinates with materials, production floor, stock room and NPD to establish priorities.
9. Conducts production, R&D, and engineering runs.
10. Ensures that employees assisting in completing production work orders are efficient and completing assigned tasks to applicable procedures.
11. Performs other related duties, as required.
