Job summary

Trivium Packaging is seeking an Extrusion Operator for our Ohio manufacturing facility. You will set up and operate extrusion equipment, read blueprints and drawings to align with customer specifications, and monitor the line for quality and efficiency.

You will solve problems with a strong mechanical aptitude, perform routine maintenance, and communicate clearly with teammates to ensure safe, compliant production of aluminum containers. Fluency in English is required.

  • Set up and operate all extrusion equipment.
  • Perform routine cleaning and preventative maintenance on extrusion equipment.
  • Observe machine operations to detect faults and adjust as necessary.
  • Communicate with fellow operators to update on production.
  • Perform routine quality checks and record findings to ensure cans meet specifications.
  • Proficiently perform changeovers and production to customer specifications.
  • Authority to stop or modify work processes due to non-conformance or unsafe conditions.
  • Report all potential food safety concerns to QA manager.
  • Perform all other job duties as assigned.

Job description

The Extrusion Operator will set up and operate extrusion equipment based on job specifications set by the customer. Operators should be able to communicate effectively with other operators up and down the line to problem solve.

Job Duties
  • Read blueprints and can drawings to determine job specifications and tooling.
  • Set up and operate all extrusion equipment.
  • Perform routine cleaning and preventative maintenance on extrusion related equipment.
  • Observe machine operations to detect machine faults and make adjustments necessary for the line.
  • Communication with fellow operators to update on production.
  • Perform routine quality checks and record findings to ensure cans are meeting job specifications.
  • Proficiently perform changeovers and production of aluminum containers to the specifications set by the customer.
  • Authority to stop and/or modify work processes due to non-conformance and/or unsafe working conditions.
  • Report all potential food safety concerns to the quality assurance manager.
  • Perform all other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience Requirements
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to solve problems.
  • Possess excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Quality control skills
  • Must be a team player and possess a "can do" attitude.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time on concrete floor.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to read, write and communicate fluently in English.

This role is in a manufacturing environment and the employee will be exposed to moving mechanical parts that produce noise.
