Sealed Air Corporation in Streetsboro, OH is hiring for an Extruder Operator path on a D Shift (6:00 PM to 6:00 AM) with a $2.00 shift premium. Pay rate starts at $22.00 per hour, transitioning to Extruder Operator A after training and openings.

Role entails operating thermoplastic extrusion machinery, QA testing, and material handling to meet production quality. Training provided; opportunity for advancement within a rotating shift schedule.

Qualifications

• Prior Extrusion experience required or preferred.
• Computer proficiency for monitoring equipment and data entry.
• Minimum 1 year of relative manufacturing experience.
• Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Proven safe work habits in manufacturing environments.
• Quality minded with attention to detail.
• Proven performance in current role or similar function.

Responsibilities

• Observe and follow safety rules and regulations.
• Monitor scrap recovery and ensure proper control procedures.
• Assist with setting up, adjusting, and operating extrusion equipment.
• Move materials and components; weigh and relocate as needed.
• Hook up equipment and procure materials from receiving areas.
• Assist in minor maintenance or repair tasks as directed.
• Perform QA tests such as gauge thickness, dyne level, and visual checks.
• Fill in as A operator when required.

Job Description

Shift: D Shift - 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM Rotating Shift Schedule

Shift Premium Amount: $2.00

Pay Rate: $22.00

Role Purpose

Perform routine and repetitive duties to assist in set-ups, adjustments, and operations of thermoplastic extruding machinery and related equipment to form film or tubes to meet quality and production requirements.

Principal Accountabilities

• Observe all prescribed or standard safety rules and regulations.
• Follow instructions to monitor scrap recovery control procedure.
• Provide assistance required or move and position nip rollers, rewind shafts, and razor cut devices as directed for proper operation.
• Monitor continuing operations for proper flow of raw and scrap material.
• Move completed work as directed and weigh and move to designated storage or other work area. Hook up vacuum pumps to rail cars and monitor operation. Procure materials and resins from receiving areas as required.
• Occasionally perform or assist in minor extruder and/or related recovery equipment, repair, or maintenance duties as instructed.
• Perform QA tasks including gauge thickness, smoothness, visual, opacity, dyne level, and any other required tests.
• Must be able to fill in as an A operator as needed.
