Job summary

Altium Packaging is seeking a Production Machine Operator to run blow-mold equipment and related lines in a North Carolina facility. The role focuses on operating blow-mold machines, grinders, trimmers, and conveyors with a strong mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities include audits, quality checks, and process adjustments to meet specs. Training is provided, and overtime may be required. A high school diploma and relevant experience are essential for application.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• At least 3 years experience as a machine operator.
• 2 years experience as an extruder operator is preferred.
• Working knowledge of high-speed machinery and measurement tools (caliper, micrometer).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and analytical skills are essential.
• Basic English and math skills are required.
• Experience with reading blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
• Ability to work overtime.
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Operate blow-mold machines to ensure production of quality bottles.
• Perform audits, weights, and quality checks.
• Adhere to quality control, blow mold procedures, and GMPs.
• Make adjustments to meet product specifications.
• Repair or replace pneumatic and hydraulic lines.
• Assist with preventive maintenance and mechanical changes.
• Grind excess bottles and material.
• Troubleshoot and resolve process problems.
• Prepare maintenance requests and document repairs.
• Document daily reports including rejects and line efficiencies.

In this role, you will operate a variety of production equipment, including blow-mold machines, grinders, trimmer machines, and conveyor systems. You will need a strong background in operating equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operating blow-mold machines (including wheels, reciprocating, or shuttle machines) to ensure production of quality bottles
• Performing audits, weights, and quality checks
• Adhering to quality control, blow mold process procedure, and Good Manufacturing Practices
• Making adjustments to meet product specifications
• Repairing or replacing pneumatic and hydraulic lines
• Assisting with preventive maintenance, mold, neck and blow pin, and other mechanical changes
• Grinding excess bottle and material
• Troubleshooting and resolve process problems
• Preparing maintenance request forms and documenting equipment repairs
• Preparing and documenting daily reports, including rejects, regrinds, and line efficiencies

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3 years’ experience as a machine operator
• 2 years' experience as an extruder operator, preferred
• Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery & measurement tools (caliper, micrometer etc.)
• Strong mechanical aptitude and analytical skills
• Basic English & Math skills
• Machine troubleshooting and preventative maintenance experience
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals
• Ability to work overtime
• Physical stamina and strength/able to stand for long periods of time

Training

• Completion of Altium Machine Operator 1 training within 90-days of hire date
• Must be able to train on days, if needed
