Job summary

TACO Metals in Sparta, TN, is seeking a hands-on Extrusion/Production Engineer and Manager to join our Plastics Manufacturing team. This role blends floor-level troubleshooting with growing leadership responsibilities, working with the current Plastics Extrusion Engineer and Plastics Production Manager to drive improvements and prepare for long-term leadership.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Plastics/Extrusion Engineering or related field.
3–7 years of extrusion or polymer processing experience.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing and ERP systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and optimize extrusion processes to improve quality, efficiency, throughput and uptime.
Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality and equipment reliability.
Support new product development, tooling improvements, and production launches.
Train, coach, and support extrusion operators and production team members.
Collaborate with Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, Production and Supply Chain to drive results.
